Dear Life,

Thank you for helping me keep an open heart and mind and for allowing me to see all of the good things around me.

Thank you for my parents. Thank you for this time that I am able to spend with them, it feels wonderful to be a daily part of their lives again.

Thank you for the stunning evening skies in Ohio, for the layered clouds of pink and purple, for the sunsets that linger and glow. Thank you for reminding me how much I love the sunsets here in the middle of America.

Thank you for the creative group of people I’ve found online. Thank you for sending kindness to me when I need it. It’s amazing how you know to pull me up just when I begin sinking a little.

Thank you for allowing me this time to explore, question and figure out just what I am capable of. I know these years are special and I wouldn’t trade them for anything.

Love,

Kim

Dear Life,

Thank you for the strength you’ve given me to make huge changes from the inside out. To see your wonder through new eyes connected to a calmer soul and a stronger more engaged heart. You shine brighter than I’ve seen in years.

Thank you for the bright greens and deep browns of my Oregon home and the health to run until my lungs give out on trails past old growth forests in a mountain paradise just steps from my bedroom. And for the sunsets that twinkle on evening runs next to friends whose bonds cannot be broken.

Thank for renewing yourself through my niece and nephew. Blonde attitude and Ginger adventure create a sense of awe for the entire Gibson Clan. They are the breath that will continue past when mine has gone out – a perfect 10 has been placed in the arms and home of my brother.

Thank you for everyday. Come rain, sun, snow or sleet you have given me a precious gift that I promise not to squander. From friends to family, ice cream to Capture the Flag dreams. I will honor and cherish every part of you until the sun sets on this wonderful journey.

I promise to never grow up and loose sight of the fun and wonder you provide.

Love,

Wendy Darling

Dear Life,

Thank you for the home I share with my husband and our cat. Thank you for a roof that doesn’t leak and windows that aren’t too drafty. Thank you for a kitchen where I can not only feed my family and my friends, but express myself creatively.

Thank you for my job that allows me enough to save for this next adventure and a little extra so I don’t go crazy in the process.

Thank you for my friends who have stuck by me through success and failure, but have never once said, “I told you so.”

Thank you for my family who all know more pain than I can imagine, yet who still willingly offer me comfort when I’m down.

Thank you for warm nights on the patio and good music on the record player.

Thank you for dimly lit slow dances in the living room.

Thank you for pushing me when I get complacent, and offering me hope when I feel overwhelmed.

Thank you for giving me awareness to appreciate all that I’ve been given.

Love,

Carmel

I love Mondays. What an encouragement to hear gratitude and hope in a world that often gets stuck in a spiral of negativity and self-focus.

Hoping you (and we!) will continue to find the good in the things that are so very HERE and NOW. :)

Today, I’m thankful for the rain that makes my hair a ball of frizz because it has cooled down our brutal Texas summer and made the air smell like childhood.

Oh, I know that childhood smell of after-rain completely. Such a lovely description.

These years are special, indeed. Always makes me think of what I’m thankful for which I suppose is the purpose!
